THE KINDRED

The Kindred is a coming-of-age story about a girl escaping her troubled past, meeting a group of runaways, and finding herself along the way. On a quest for a home, Sophia and her friends get a crash course in street smarts and body disposal.

The seed for my story came from my experience as a teen runaway living on the streets of San Francisco. Although this is a fast paced work of fiction set in the late 80s, the underlying themes of found family, healing, and hope are timeless.
